I am indebted to and grateful for so many wonderful people in my life. As I
get older , the list gets longer and longer . First, and foremost, are the women
who have sought my personal care and guidance over the past ten years. I
must thank them for sharing their most intimate moments, thoughts, and
fears with me and in doing so giving me the opportunity to witness the
divine nature of birth and the power of the Holy Spirit. Each birth teaches
me more about myself, and each child brings a renewed hope for a kinder ,
gentler way of being with one another in this life.
I must also thank all of the mothers, fathers, and providers who have
been inspired by the first edition of Gentle Birth Choices. For ten years I
have been blessed with letters, phone calls, and e-mails praising this work.
These compliments and, more importantly , the triumphant stories of how
women have been changed and empowered by both the book and the video
have inspired me to continue my work, even through the rough spots
