Health Economics An International Perspective

Health Economics An International Perspective

The authors have been teaching health economics
at the London School of Hygiene and
Tropical Medicine and the London School
of Economics for the past ten years. Our students
come from a wide range of backgrounds
and disciplines, from over one hundred countries,
and have varied experience of planning
and managing health systems. We have
attempted to provide courses that meet the
needs of people training for jobs in public
health services in the United Kingdom and
Europe, for students who are planners and
managers in low- and middle-income countries,
for health-promotion specialists and for
those working on infectious disease control.
Some students want only a basic introduction,
and others aim to work as health economists.
Some are mainly interested in applied work,
and others focus on research.
