Clinical Case Studies for the Family Nurse Practitioner

This book was written to help clinicians and students in family practice to better understand how to
diagnose and manage typical (and some atypical) patient cases. I have often found it diffi cult to fi nd
patient cases that could be assigned to students or used “ as is ” in the classroom or in practica. I have
frequently had to adapt cases I have found in publications or from my own experience. My purpose
in writing this book was to make cases available that could be used without the need for adaptation.
However, readers and instructors may still fi nd it helpful to change the ages, genders, or locations
of the patients in the cases to enable varying perspectives of the diagnoses and treatments of these
patients.
