products involves the initial, comprehensive identification and characterization
through toxicological and analytical testing of a product’s potential
health hazards. Such testing aims to establish the potential of the product to
induce various types of short-term and long-term toxicological damage of
organs and tissues, allergy, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity and mutagenicity.
