Occupational Health: A Practical Guide for Managers is designed to
assist managers who recognise the advantages of good occupational
health practice within their organisation and wish to develop healthrelated
initiatives.
The book is arranged in four parts. Part I consists of three chapters.
The first discusses organisational and legal issues in a way which will
facilitate the development of an organisational health policy aimed at the
prevention of work-related ill health and the promotion of good health
practices among employees. The second chapter traces the history of
occupational health and provides information about current practice.
Guidance on the development of occupational health policies is
contained in Chapter 3.
