The parent stories shared in this book are based on detailed conversations
and/or correspondence with the parents who were interviewed for this new
edition of Parenting Through the Stormor the original Canadian edition. In
all cases, permission was obtained to quote these parents and to share their
families’ experiences. In some, identifying details were changed to protect
the privacy of the individuals involved. In other cases, pseudonyms were
provided at the family’s request. I have edited and paraphrased some comments in the interest of clarity, while still honoring the spirit and intention
of the original comments.
